This Day In Nigerian History: 24th January

On Thursday 24 Jan 2008: Faith Tabernacle, headquarters of Living Faith Church International aka Winners’ Chapel, was listed by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest church.

With seating capacity of 50,400 people and overflow for 250,000 the edifice is reputed to have been built with wholly Nigerian man/material input.

The Living Faith Church was founded by Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo in 1981 and has become a global network of churches with congregations in at least 34 countries.
