Secretary-General of the United Nations Organization, Mr. António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, arrived Nigeria for a 2-day official visit on Tuesday 03 May 22.
This is the third leg of his West African tour, following his earlier visits to neighbouring Niger Republic and Senegal.

On Tuesday, His aircraft landed at the Maiduguri International Airport in Borno State, north-eastern Nigeria, and he was received by the Governor of the State, Professor Babagana Zulum.



On Tuesday, he embarked on a field mission to meet families affected by the Boko Haram conflict which has ravaged the region for more than 12 years.

In the morning of Wednesday 04 May 22, Mr Guterres arrived the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja for a function at the United Nations House in the company of some UN top officials and diplomats.which

In the afternoon of Wednesday, he was received by the Nigerian President, Mr. Muhamamdu Buhari, at 3 pm in the Aso Rock presidential villa.
