With a worth of 2 billion US dollars, OPay Digital Services Limited aka Opay Bank is Nigeria’s largest bank by valuation.

OPay Digital Services Limited is a company founded by Opera Norway AS Group with operations in emerging markets across Asia, Africa and Latin America in countries like Mexico, Nigeria, Egypt and Pakistan.

Registered in Nigeria since 12 September 2013, it was formerly known as Paycom Nigeria Limited and currently has its headquarters at Alexander House, Otunba Jobi Fele Way Agidingbi, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State.

On Monday 23 August 2021, Opay closed a record $400 million funding round led by Japanese-based venture capital finance vehicle, Softbank Vision Fund 2, managed by SoftBank.

It was the largest raise ever by any Africa-focused fintech, and also the first time Softbank would invest in an Africa-centred tech company.
